Monterey Sunset

I was at a figure workshop at Asilomar and several folks went out to the beach at sunset to sip tea and enjoy the view. We did not know it would be spectacular but there it was just for a brief time. The sun set in the water and on the wet sand was wonderful, inspiring and soon the weather changed, we got cold and headed back indoors.

Looking over the fence

On a trip up Highway 395 we stopped in a small town and looked over the fence at this beautiful scene. It was a lovely morning with just enough warmth to the morning light to enliven the land and show off the beautiful distortions of the tree.

Kayaks on the Sunshine Coast

There were 4 kayaks out paddling when the waves came up and roughed up the sea. We were well away from shore so the only option was to stay close together and paddle for the distant shore. I hadn't learned the trick of putting a heavy rock inside the boat to add weight and make the trip a bit less unstable.

While we kayaked there was still time to watch the waves and notice the warm afternoon light on the wave crests and softer warms on the distant hills. 11x14, $250

Morning mist

This is a painting from Sonoma County near Marin. It was a beautiful morning out with just a hint of morning mist lingering.

I hope you enjoy it. 12x16, oil on panel, $300
