Music Man

The music man was at the San Jose Jaz festival. His music was full of energy.

This young woman was part of the demonstration at Columbia, California. It is a fun place to visit.

Red Barn

This is a Mendocino/Sonoma Barn that I have painted. this was to try and see if the perspective of vine lines would work. I did modify the scene in the painting two pictures below. I got the painting up before I photographed my charcoals.

Mendocino Barn

This little barn was in the Mendocino area. It was a somewhat cloudy day so there were no totally brilliant sunlit hues.

Mendocino Coast

This is from a trip to Mendocino County last spring. It was a beautiful late day when the sun came out for a short time with clouds still lingering above the hills.

Morning Ramble

This pathway scene has some nice lights and darks. I think the people add a nice feeling of moving through the pas as the reddish hues take you around the couple.

Near Moonshine Road

This is a little morning scene near Moonshine Road. It was a beautiful day with just enough sun on the forward hill to light up the painting.

Winter Light

This is a 6"x6" painting. It was fun to work on the sky, add some trees and hills and think about how my world looks in winter.

Laguna morning

This is a view of the Laguna in Santa Rosa, Ca. It was a cool morning and just a bit of sun was peeking over the hill and lighting on the mustard which is beautiful this time of year.

Russian River

This is a painting not far from home as I head out toward the coast. There is a nice spot with a bend in the river that is fun to paint.

Walker Creek

Last Monday our MMP group went to Walker Creek. It was a pretty day, nice sun, cool and breezy in the shade. I left my white at home so use a pale ochre as my light and latter at home touched up the painting with a bit of Naples Yellow to lighten a few areas.

It is nice to be back after a nasty cold/cough.
