Dutcher Crossing Vineyard and Winery

Monday Morning painters were out here a short time back. It is a beautiful spot in Sonoma County.

I am working on using large masses and then smaller and smaller areas of glazing to show values and plane changes. I am also getting more familiar with acrylics.

I'll be out of town for about a week so will post when I return.

Near The Grand Canyon

This is a view of a falls near the Grand Canyon. I was surprised at how many falls we saw on our travels.

I took a color theory class years ago and we painted small masses. I thought I would try that again. It has been fun.

Burney Falls

We visited Burney Falls during the summer fires. there was lots of smoke in the sky except right over the falls area. We had clear skies and could breath. They were beautiful. The Viridian in the water was unbelievable.

Pear on Blue

Another pear painting. This one is on a blue background. It doesn't show the blue very well on my computer. The pears have been a very fun series. This pear is very proper.

acrylic on gessoed watercolor paper. 11x7.

Road to Whiteny Portal

This is a small painting done from a trip to Whitney Portal. We went a few years ago to celebrate my brother's retirement. It is full of good memories.
